Secretarial Practice

A Company Secretary is a qualified professional to render services in company law, company secretarial practice, corporate governance, administration, management etc., A qualified Company Secretary in India is required to be Member of the Institute of Company Secretary of India [ICSI] - a statutory professional body. In order to become a Member of ICSI - a person shall pass the examinations conducted by the ICSI and meet the training requirements to chart a course through regulation, legislation & best practice, and to deliver effective operations as a Professional. A qualified Company Secretary may join as an employee of a Company registered in India as per Companies Act 1956 or render services as a Practising Company Secretary to several Companies as per provisions of Company Secretaries Act 1980. Company Secretary ensures that the Registered Companies in India meet all legal requirements under various Corporate Laws. It has therefore become an essential requirement to the Corporate sector in India to engage the services of someone who is qualified as a Company Secretary.
